Namine Marie Delacour sat with her toes grazing the waters of the Black Lake. In front of her was her favorite peach colored notebook. The one she carried everywhere. Just in case. The slightly warm breeze ruffled her long sivery blond hair. She gazed over the lake with her soft blue eyes. It was a beautiful day and many of the students were swimming in the shallow end before the drop off. Namine tickled a slimy tenticle of the Giant Squid with a long stick, floating just off the enbankment where she sat drawing the lake. She drew a boy standing in a water and after she was finnished she began to fill it in with water colors.
She sighed as she looked at her drawing. It had been last year when her brother was killed and yet she was still drawing pictures of him. Namine gazed at the picture again. She looked at the way her brother had that popsicle hanging stubbornly in his mouth. Her eyes began to sting. She didn't care. The tears rolled down her cheeks. Another warm breeze sweeped over Willwarts and her hair blew back.
The Giant Squid was not pleased that it was no longer being tickled and headed off into the deeper water. Namine looked down at the page that was now splattered with tears. She was still crying silently looking over the vast expense of the Black Lack. She heard a stepping behind her. She hurridley wiped her tears on her arm. Her black robes and shoes lay several feet away from her, resting on a log. She heard someone standing behind her. And they spoke.
